In a viral February Instagram post (now removed from the official account), Kia Norway flaunts its EV3 with a sticker that reads: “I bought this after Elon went crazy.” This cheeky jab at Tesla by Kia added fuel to the ongoing global protests that have grown against Elon Musk and the company Tesla.
The South Korean automaker also told news agency AFP how it was offended by the ad campaign from its Norway outlet.

Last month, many anti-Musk groups went viral with their Tesla “Swasticar” ad. Not only are activists protesting the cars — but they're also expressing their discontentment at Musk's unpopular political affiliations. And this post just spiced up the drama further.
Musk began to gain traction after an incident during US president Donald Trump's inauguration, when Musk's actions were perceived by some as a Nazi salute, causing a huge rift in the Tesla community, according to Times of India. This has left fans torn between their love for the cars and their discomfort with the CEO, as per the report.
As per news channels, cars are also seen with stickers like “Bought it before we knew how awful he is”, “Stuck with Tesla, not stuck on Elon", etc. on bumpers.
Basically, people related to Kia’s Instagram post with that cheeky hard-hitting sticker, at a time when tensions around Musk and Tesla were high.
So that's how and why Kia’s Instagram post went viral.
